  First of all, let's address the question of...What is Y2K?  Y2K broken down is simply, Y-year and 2K-2000!  What Y2K also stands for is the millenium bug that we've all heard about and most of us fear.  You might be asking, what causes this bug?  The cause of this bug is most of the older PCs and some of the newer ones are programmed with a  2 digit date code which will prevent it from recognizing the year 2000!!                   
What does Y2K mean to all of us as PC (personal computer) owners and/or buyers?  What it means is that we have to make sure that any PC we own or purchase has to be Y2K compliant.  If your PC was purchased before 1996 then it's mandatory that you either have it diagnosed for Y2K compliancy or save up for the new PC you'll be buying come the year 2000!  If your PC was purchased during or after 1996, there's still a chance of it not being able to handle the turn of the
century.  Only 10% of all computers will survive the change into 2000!
